Instead of doing an improv show, this year’s Drama Club has decided to hold their very own “Saturday Knight Live” show based off of Saturday Night Live on NBC. Saturday Knight Live consists of nine different sketches, each about five to seven minutes in length, with about 40 performers combined. The show will be held in the auditorium at 7 p.m on Friday May 13th with tickets being sold for $5 at the door.
“It’s something new, we haven’t done this before so we’re all really just waiting to see how it goes,” club sponsor Jeff Tandler said.
Unlike most performances, the performers of Saturday Knight Live didn’t have to go to an audition. Instead, those that were interested in being apart of the show had to attend a meeting in order to perform, most of these performers have either been in a Drama Club production before or have gone through one drama class.
“I’m excited to make people laugh and I’m also excited to finally get up on stage and act in front of people,” senior and actress Kristen Boiles said.
