Each summer all three cheer squads meet up at school to load the buses to go to their big summer cheer camp. Last years camp was held at St. East Missouri State with over 25 schools attending. This year is expected to be more fun with more cheer leaders participating.
“I’m excited because it’ll be my senior year and my last camp with North so I’m going to try and make the best of it,” junior Sara Vonharz said.
After the three-four day camp (varies year to year) squads come together to compete against other schools. With the whole camp full of cheer all day every day, girls get to put their heart and soul into a performance that they will show to everyone. Along with cheering as a squad girls get to meet people from other schools and see how they work together.
“We try to get the blue ribbon so we work really hard to the point we all end up hating each other towards the end but we still work together to come out on top in the end,” junior Harvi Ubhi said.
