For the second year in a row student council is planning to attend the MASC summer leadership camp which was located at Williamwood University in Fulton, Mo last year. Here, StuCo’s from across the state gather together as a school but then split into groups with other schools to work together.
“I’m looking forward to see all of the people I met last year and making new bonds with people,” junior Catherine Burke said.
In the groups students work together to create plans and talk about various ways to add “Gusto” to their school spirit. “Gusto” is vigorous and enthusiastic enjoyment. Along with “Gusto” students participate in games and activities over the week long camp together. By the end of the camp the groups had learned new leadership skills and worked on bonding more as a council.
“My favorite part was probably learning all of the chants,” Burke said.
