As the summer break encroaches upon the students at North, many are embracing the break in different ways. Some are working with organizations, others will be taking time to rest, and others are finding a way to balance the two.
“I plan on helping out with a week long summer program called Seed-Bearers,” sophomore Ellen Cracraft said. “Not only am I doing that, but [I’m] singing [for] the group that I perform with, The Patt Holt singers. Usually I have an increase of shows during the summer.”
While some are taking the time to pursue other avenues of interest, others are taking time to recover from what they have deemed a long and hard year.
“[The summer] is a time to relax and be with my family and friends because it is important since it has been hectic during the school year and I haven’t been able to hang out as much,” sophomore Alex Callier said.
Whatever the case, students have found the break a time to recover and a time to move forward on other plans.
“In the summer I am probably going to hang out with friends and volunteer at the hospital because I think it would help me to grow as a person since I am helping out other people,” sophomore Korey Tyndall said.
