This Saturday, Black and Gold Day is scheduled to take place at FHN from 3 to 9 p.m. This day includes food and game booths sponsored by various FHN groups and sports teams, a parade of the fall sports athletes, performances by Knightline and Cheerleading, and Soccer and Football scrimmages. Admission is free and anyone is welcome to attend.
“I hope this year’s [Black and Gold Day] is going to be better than last year’s, with all the new freshman,” tennis player Alyssa Miller said. “We get to see all the new faces.”
However, this outdoor event may be impaired by inclement weather. According to The Weather Channel, there is a 30 percent chance of rain in the St. Louis area Saturday, as of 5:00 a.m. Thursday, and Black and Gold Day organizers have no official rain plan. Booster club President Lisa Burke is confident that Black and Gold Day will take place even if it does rain.
“It has never rained before,” Burke said. “We are hoping and praying it doesn’t happen this year, but even if it does rain, we should still get part of it in.”
