After being promised new courts, the girls Tennis team was excited to start the season. The courts were supposed to be done Aug 8; however, they were not finished until Aug 25. In spite of this setback, the team has had a productive start to the season as they are 6-0.
“They weathered it well,” coach Kate Kleiber said. “They did what they had to do to make it work”
Until the courts were finished, the girls practiced at an indoor tennis club called the Steel Shop. Practicing indoors gave the girls a disadvantage because at outdoor matches, the team must deal with weather conditions.
“I feel better playing outside because it’s more open,” Risa Takenaka said.”I don’t feel so caged in.”
