FHN’s Lady Knights Varsity Volleyball team adds yet another accomplishment to their successful season. The Lady Knights took second against Westminster on Saturday Oct. 1st in the Jimmy Johns Invitational championship.
“It felt awesome being in the championship against Westminster because we had worked so hard to get to that point,” Outside Hitter Erin Powelson said.
The Lady Knights lost the first game against Westminster but came back with a sweeping win in the second game. Westminster won the third game 25-15 and took first place. Despite taking second, the Lady knights still had a lot to be proud of.
“I was a little dissapointed because I knew we could have beaten Westminster, but I was still happy with the way we played throughout the tournament,” Setter Maddie Eifert said.
With the amount of support and faith from the Lady Knights fans, it only pushes them further and challenges them to countinue meeting their goals. Even though they did not reach their goal this year of taking first, theres always next year.
“Forget about whatever is going on in your life and play the game the way you know how. Also, enjoy the company of your teammates even if you are frustrated because you have a long day ahead of you,” graduating Senior and Middle Hitter Alex Oppenborn said.
