Zach Wood steps onto the stage, a quiet murmur goes through the few people in the rehearsal crowd. Chateau la Roach, the fall play this year, is about a hotel that is infested with Roaches and the whole plot of the play is about the staffers trying to remove them from the hotel before the inspector shows up.
“It’s a funny play because were all strange people doing even stranger things,” junior John Hallemeier said.
The upcoming play is not the only thing receiving attention from the cast and crew; over the summer Drama club had new lights installed. The new lights dim and adjust to fit the current mood of the play, which will come in handy with the comical side of Chateua la Roach.
“They [the lights] are fantastic,”junior Amber Oder said. “They are so easy to work; you just press a button and your done.”
The play this year is unlike last year’s play Calamityville Terror; the crew this year is full of new officers and fresh new faces all around drama club.
“The most stressful part of the play was probably getting all the cues set because there is a lot of freshmen and it was just at times not orderly,” Oder said.
Many members would say the best part of Chateau la Roach is the plot.
“I like the fact that there is a plot to follow along to because some plays are random,” sophomore Cassie Sheppard said.
