The DECA Jumpoff has been going on for eight years now and new people are playing this intense basketball game on Nov. 10.
“I know they’re some changes this year with the DECA Jumpoff,” Koeneman said. “There is a can drive and Freshman and Sophomores are playing as well.”
This year at the Jumpoff, things are a little different than before. Last year they didn’t get enough Freshman and Sophomores to sign up so the Juniors played the Seniors and then the Seniors played the Faculty. Fortunately, this year there are enough Freshman and Sophomores to play. So starting at 6:30 p.m. the Freshman/Sophomores will take on the Juniors. Then starting at 7 p.m. the Seniors will take on the undefeated Faculty. The cost to get in is $3 but, if an attendee brings in a can good, they can get a $1off.
“It spreads DECA around the school and gets Freshman and Sophomores involved,” Zach Ksiazek said. “I like that we are raising money to give to homeless shelters.”
This year, a portion of the money raised from the Jumpoff is going to a homeless shelter and the other part is going to FHN to help the less fortunate. The main reason besides raising money for a charity is to spread awareness about DECA around the school and get more people involved.
“My favorite part is that I get to relive the glory days and play Basketball again,” Ksiazek said.
The DECA Jumpoff has been going on for 8 years now and has been known as a great success. It helps a lot with getting people ready for the Basketball season but also ready for DECA. The Jumpoff is always something that DECA gets excited for year after year.
“The students will realize it’s a really close knit group and will get involved because they will have fun,” Sydney Swing said. The DECA Jumpoff has been going on for eight years now and new people are playing this intense Basketball game on Nov. 10.
