On Nov 5, sophomore Alexis Happe competed in State in Jefferson City. Her time on the 5K (3 miles) was 21:18
“It went alright,” says Happe. “(My time was) decent for how hard of a course it was.”
There were 220 students that competed in this race and, from Freshman to Seniors, Happe ranked 89.
“It was really scary and intimidating on the starting line,” Happe says. “Knowing I was up against the fastest people in the State and a few of them were ranked nationally.”
Overall, Happe says that this was a great experience for her to have going forward into next year.
“(Next year) realistically, I would like to get top 50,” says Happe. “But in my dreams, top 25 would be legit and I’d probably poop my pants.”
