The Varsity Knights Hockey team faced off against the Duchesne Pioneers on Saturday December 10. Going into the game, the Knights were 5-2 and were hoping to pull out another win against Duchesne. The Knights knew going into the game that they would have to work because Duchesne also pulled out a victory against Howell earlier in the year. At the end of the first period, the Knights found themselves up 3-0.“After the goals were scored I was excited because we were up and knew if we kept playing the way we were then we would win,” defensive player Brendan Johnson said.
At the end of the second period, the Knights were up 6-0, and at this point the Knights knew that had it in the bag. They kept playing their best because all they wanted to do was get their goalie the shutout he wanted.
“We wanted to give our goalie a shutout, so we did this by having both the offense and defense work together and we never gave up,” senior David Hitchcock said.
The Knights defeated the Pioneers 7-0, improving their record to 6-2 and getting their goalie his shutout.
