At FHN, students have the option of joining one or more of the numerous clubs and/or partaking in a sport. Junior Kerry Moriarty is one of the few students who can juggle a different sport each season, several clubs, and keep her grades up all year long.
“The only time it’s really hard is when you have a bunch of tests at the end of the week, otherwise, it’s really easy because I stay up all night,” Moriarty said.
Throughout high school Moriarty has covered just about every sport this school has to offer. Those include swimming, cross country, tennis, basketball, softball, and soccer. This year she plans to add track to the list. Her parents pushed her to join basketball, soccer, and softball. Moriarty joined the rest of them because she wanted the experience of trying different sports. Out of all those sports Moriarty enjoys swimming the most.
“It’s really peaceful and challenging at the same time, and it’s different from normal life,” Moriarty said.
On top of all the sports, Moriarty is involved in NHS, FBLA, Student Council, Spanish Club, mentoring, she is the president of Mu Alpha Theta, and she manages a 4.6 GPA.
“I really respect it because I know I couldn’t be in that many activities, and stay organized and sane like she does,” junior Jasmine Wahlbrink said.
