In preparation for the winter dance, Bright Knight, students have the opportunity to dress up for spirit week. To boost student involvement, StuCo chose fun days that are easy to participate in.
“I really love them,” junior Ashley Hudspeth said. “The ones that are the easiest are the funnest.”
Today was Mustache Monday. The rest of the week follows with Commercial Tuesday, Little Kid Wednesday, Neon Thursday, and Class Colors Friday. This year’s spirit days seem to have a crazier theme that StuCo is hoping will increase participation.
“I think [more people] will participate because the days are easier because people can just get stuff out of their closets, and they don’t have to go all out,” StuCo cabinet member Austin Wiedner said.
The success of this spirit week will set the tone for future weeks. Some students think the new days are entertaining and don’t take much effort. Others think the days should be simpler, like Class Colors day.
“I think it’s good that we are doing new things, but we should do some crazy days and some reasonable ones,” sophomore Abigail Griffin said. “I think we should try to get spirit days that everyone will participate in so that we can really show our school spirit.”
