Sophomore Jessie Moceri has been playing varsity softball since her freshman year and started playing varsity basketball this year. Moceri has been working a long time for the opportunity to get to this point, and at the end of her softball season she won a All-Academic Award and second team All-District. She has played softball for seven years and basketball for four years.
“It’s really cool [playing on varsity], I feel accomplished starting as a sophomore because I finally feel like my hard work is paying off,” Moceri said.
Softball is Moceri’s favorite sport out of the two. She spends two hours a week on lessons for softball.
“[I like] softball better because it’s more of a mental game than basketball,” Moceri said.
Moceri has one goal; to play a sport in college. She would want to play softball if she had a choice, but some people think she would have a better career in basketball.
“I would want to play softball over basketball because I like the game better and I feel like I am better at it,” Moceri said.
