“Awake” is a new show that premiered last night. It airs on Thursday nights at 9 on channel 5. It is a show about a man named Micheal, who was in a car accident with his wife Hannah and son Rex. In the accident, he loses one his family members. The twist is that Micheal is not quite sure which of his family is dead and which one is alive. Micheal is living two different realities of his life with each family member. When he goes to sleep, he wakes up with his son alive; then that night when he thinks he falls asleep he wakes up with his wife alive. He never knows when he is dreaming or when he is asleep.
Micheal is a detective; his boss knows that he is struggling with the loss of a family member and requires Micheal to go see a shrink. Because he is living two different lives, Micheal has two different shrinks. Both shrinks are trying to convince Micheal that he is awake when he is talking to them. In each of the worlds Micheal is living in, he is trying to solve a different crime. Both of the crimes have clues to the other in the opposite reality that Micheal is living in.
I thought the show was great. “Awake” is very suspenseful. I like how the story line is very original, it’s not the same old crime show you see everyday. “Awake” is very unique. I would definitely recommend tuning in.
