Prom will taking place on April 14. The fast approaching date brings Prom Court nominations. The first round of voting was held March 28.
“I feel this year’s voting was less of a popularity contest and people this year people voted for cute couples in their grade,” junior class delegate Tori Therrien said.
Each junior and senior wrote down three boys and three girls from their grade to be nominated. The ballots were collected and then passed along to junior class delegates, who planned this year’s prom. Junior delegates counted the results for the first round of nominees.
“We wrote down their names and put a tally by each name for every vote they got,” junior delegate Savannah Landers said.
The 2012 Prom Court nominees from the senior class are Sarah Cole, Maggie Curran, Maggie Jasper, Sarah Teson, Amanda Pirrone, Chelsea Edmiston, Devin Mundy, Zach Wood, Nathan Viehman, Brian Thomas, Ryan Jeppesen, and Sam Crapo. The juniors’ court nominees are Jasmine Wahlbrink, Melanie Tennyson, Ashlynn Laspe, Taylor Keeven, Drew Landherr, Zach Ksiazek, Andy Bartell, and Nick Cole. Students will vote for prom court April 4 during homeroom and the results will be announced April 6.
“To all of the nominees, congratulations and good luck,” junior class president Murphy Riley said.
