Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium, FHN choir members sang together for their last performance of the year. All choir members participated–including Knightsound, Concert Choir, state ensembles, and solos. Some of the songs sung were more challenging than others due to the choreography or emotional connections. For junior Courtney Nixon, “One Day More” was the most difficult.
“It was the last song of the concert, and it was pretty emotional because that’s the last song you’ll ever sing with the seniors,” Nixon said.
Every member had their own personal favorite performance. Nixon’s favorite was singing “Lucky” because all of the guys in Knightsound surprised the girls by giving them flowers during the performance. Others enjoyed the opening number.
“My most memorable part was dressing up like we were in the 80’s and singing ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’,” junior Trevor Atnip said.
To prepare for the concert, choir members practiced every day this past semester at home and before and after school. Although the show had a few minor problems, overall, the night went smoothly.
“There were a few glitches in playing the CD’s, but nothing we couldn’t get around,” Nixon said.
