The last meeting for Fellowship of Christian Athletes was held last night, May 16 at Laurel Park. It was a bittersweet night for many of the club members since it was the last meeting held until next fall when school begins again, but for many others it would be their last FCA meeting of their high school lives. FCA contained 20 active senior members.
“I’m literally going to miss every aspect of FCA from the fellowship to the food. I’m going to miss everything,” senior huddle leader Abbey Grone said.
The last meeting was spent by saying the last good-byes to the seniors before they leave and reminiscing all the great times and friendships that were made while they were there. The seniors were called one by one to stand in front of the other members to be roasted about the funny memories that has occurred over the years of FCA.
“I liked being able to tell each senior the kind of impact they made in my life and sharing all the stories with everyone and hearing everyone else share their stories too,” junior Ashley Butterfield said.
Most of the Huddle Leaders are seniors this year and as sad as they are about leaving they are excited about seeing how the upcoming leaders do and how FCA will progress over the next years.
“This was my first year part of FCA and Abbey Grone actually convinced me to come and I have made so many new friendships and now I’m taking her spot of Huddle leader next year. Even though I am going to miss her, I am excited to follow in her footsteps,” sophomore huddle leader Tiffany Metts said.
