Last year, the boys’ tennis team lost only one match the entire season. This year, they have goals of being undefeated. The team has the luxury of not losing any of their starters and having the help of skilled incoming underclassmen.
“We still have the same group of starters as last year which is very good when it comes to team chemistry, as well as a raw group of freshmen who can learn from a successful program,” junior Basheir Langi said.
The team took time during the off season to train and hone their skills in the 2012 winter.
“Coach Kleiber has been taking the team to optional winter workouts in an indoor tennis court so we can start off strong when the season begins,” sophomore Adam Cole said.
The players have a lot of motivation this year to go undefeated. The players believe that no other team they play can beat them.
“We haven’t changed much from last year’s successful season, so why can we not do it again this year?” Langi said. “We are really good and have the greatest chance to go undefeated this season.”
