The FHN Knightpride percussion unit performed on Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Annual Mozingo Percussion Competition at Fort Zumwalt West. This was the 23rd competition.
“The band is doing pretty well. They are in-sync with each other” said Marching Band member Kyle Paaren. “You know when you see them perform they’re a good group.”
The Band has had a great start to the 2012 season. FHN competed in the Open Division and was awarded the “Best Base Line” caption award and received the second highest score for the Pit. This doesn’t come without effort. The band practices every day until 5. They’re determined, focused and ready for every competition thrown at them.
“Next Saturday, we’re competing in the O’Fallon Township Competition,” Drumline member Eric Craven. “I don’t know about winning, but our marching band as a whole is competing better than previous years.”
This weekend the entire Knightpride Marching Band will be performing at the O’Fallon Township competition. They’re ready for this upcoming competition, and with their base line crowned the best in Open, they’re confident they’ll do well.
