On Saturday, Sept. 15, the cross country team will be competing in the annual Paul Enke Invitational. The meet will take place in Sioux Passage Park.
Students have been looking forward to this meet for a while. However, many runners say this course is extremely difficult.
“It’s like 100 times more challenging than anything we do all year,” junior Courtney Vishy said.
One reason the runners say this meet is difficult is because of the numerous amounts of steep hills.
“It’s my favorite meet of the year because our team dominates at hills,” junior Brandon Chac said.
In fact, there is one hill in particular that is making the team anxious. They call it “The Manmaker.”
“I’m excited for the meet, because it shows I am a real man,” senior Brendan Kirchoff said.
The runners have been preparing for this meet for weeks. They are aware of what they need to do.
“This is the meet you have to push even harder to get past the desire to stop,” sophomore Dominique Meyer said.
