Due to the game being rained out on Sept. 25, the Varsity softball girl’s annual senior night will be held on Oct. 1. Senior night takes place before the normal game, and honors the seniors on the team.
This year Victoria Miller and Monica Cattron were the two senior girls on the team. During the senior part of the night, the two will be recognized for the work they’ve done throughout their softball career at North.
“[Senior night] benefits the seniors because it shows appreciation for the hard work they’ve put in while they’ve played at North,” assistant Varsity coach Mike Freedline said. “They’ve showed younger girls what it takes to be team players.”
Sophomore Bailey Bay who plays on the Varsity team believes the senior girls have done a good job at bonding the team together.
“I think the senior night is a great way to end the high school softball season [for the seniors],” Bay said. “It’s hard for them knowing it’s their last year but it tells them we will all miss them.”
Miller, who is excited for senior night believes the team has grown together throughout the season.
“I’ll miss playing everyday and watching girls get better from the start of the season to the end,” Miller said. ”I like senior night because it’s honoring [us], and you get to see the board of pictures of you that your mom picked out.”
