On Wednesday, Oct. 3 the Varsity Softball team played their first day of districts at Parkway West. North won with a final score of ten to six.
“Winning last night brings us to the next game in districts, which is one step closer to a chance at state,” catcher, Paige Pauley, said.
An exciting moment in the game was when Pauley hit a grand slam putting North far ahead of Parkway West with a score of nine to three.
“The most memorable moment was when all of us girls got all wound up over Paige’s grand slam,” right fielder, Bailey Bay, said.
For Junior, third baseman, Jess Grimes, these district games are especially important because they are the last games they will be playing with the senior girls. Pitcher, Victoria Miller feels the same way.
“It’s a big deal because you get to show what you got and every game matters now,” Miller said. “And being a senior I don’t want my high school season to end.”
With the first day of districts a success the girls are even more pumped for Thursday’s game against Howell.
“I am looking forward to winning against Howell, it was a close game last time,” Miller said.
