On Friday, Oct. 19, the Varsity Football team played their ninth game of the season against Washington Missouri. They lost the game 6-56, making this their ninth loss.
The team was not happy with the score of the game, but are optimistic about next week’s game.
“I’m not happy with how we played, I wish we could’ve gotten a win, it just wasn’t happening for us tonight,” senior Braxton Perry said.
According to members of the team, next week they are going to focus on doing their part during the game and not letting past mistakes happen again.
“There were way too many mistakes, the game could have been a lot better if everyone was more focused on their job during the game,” junior Alex Heigl said.
According to the players, this game wasn’t any different compared to the games in the past. The team is trying different plays and positions every week in hopes of improving their record.
“We keep making the same mistakes instead of fixing them, people just were not playing their positions right, which allowed the other team to score.” Heigl said.
For the next game, the team intends on working harder and more efficiently in hopes of bringing home a win.
“Next time we are going to change the defense, we are going to put in different players and place them in different positions, based on their strengths,” Perry, said.
The game did have some exciting moments regardless of the loss.
“The best part of the game was finally scoring a touchdown, because then we knew we actually had a chance,” senior Zach Morris said.
