On Tuesday, Oct. 23 and Wednesday, Oct. 24 the girls varsity volleyball team will be competing in districts at Marquette High School, which will be held from 3-7 p.m.
“This season we started out with a good group of girls but a young team,” sophomore and varsity volleyball player, Jessica Allison said, “so we had really good moments and some not so good moments but overall I think we’ve been doing really well.”
The team consists of 15 players, which includes two jv swingers. According to Allison, the team has been working and practicing a lot on individual positions to prepare for Districts.
“I’m looking forward to districts,” Allison said, “because I think it is going to be a chance for us to really come together and prove ourselves and everything that we have worked for during this season.”
Last year the team placed 2nd in Districts, but they must place 1st in order to move on to Sectionals and then to State.
“I think we will do good,” junior, Stonyrae Harris said, “the girls have been working really hard at practice and we’ve improved a lot.”
