On Nov. 27 the gym quickly filled with people eager to watch JV and Varsity Knightline show off their hard work during the family and friends preview night.
“We were really excited about the preview, it gave us a chance to show everyone our dances before we go to compete them,” JV dancer Tiana Johnson said
Knightline’s first competition is Saturday, Dec. 1 at Lindbergh High School. The girls have been preparing months for the preview and their competitions and are confident in having a great season.
“We have been preparing everyday for four months, we work really hard at practice, and we record ourselves dancing to see what we need to improve on for the next practice,” Varsity dancer Lauren Martinez said.
During the preview JV and Varsity performed two dances each. Varsity did a jazz dance to a remix of the song “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” by P!nk and a kick dance to the song “Come Back Down” by Lighthouse. JV did a pom dance to the song “Sail” by AWOLNATION and a jazz dance to a mixture of popular songs. After the performances, members feel that they are well-prepared for their upcoming competitions.
“The preview went really well, we all performed amazingly. I could not be more proud of these girls,” Varsity dancer Sydney Dattilo said
Members on Knightline agree that many changes have occurred this season compared to seasons past. The team has not only received a new coach, but they all have new attitudes as well.
“Everyone is extremely dedicated and we now all realize our talent and we are going to prove our talent to everyone,” Martinez said. “This season is going so great; we are all so close to one another.”
