Knightline performed their dance to the song Shake It Out by Kesha in June to a summer camp and received first place. On December 1st, they took a new dance, to the song Blow by Kesha, to their competition in Lindenberg. However, at this competition their results were not so good. The choreography was said to be not as good as the teams they competed against and their energy wasn’t as strong as in their camp dance.
“There was nothing wrong with the dance, it’s just not on the level that it needs to be,” Senior member Savannah Landers said.
With this new set back, Knightline made a unanimous decision to replace the new dance with the one they used to perform with at the camp. They will use the camp dance to compete in nationals at the beginning of February, although they still have a little tweaking to do with this dance. They want to add more technique and also more dancing in unison.
“I’m happy and excited [about the dance being changed] because I love our camp dance, and the style and energy in it.” said Captain Laura Schulze
Overall, Knightline is very happy about the upcoming changes and also very proud of the progress they have made. The new dance is expected to work well, and the team is excited to attend Nationals next year.
“As long as we stay committed and focused, I believe we will do very well with it,” Schulze said.
