For the second year in a row, FHN will have an optional intervention time for all students that need extra help or more time to study for their finals. Students can come at either 7:20 for extra help, or at 8:20 and start their finals right away
The original plan for the intervention time was to make it possible for students what wanted to come in and get extra help before they take their finals. However many people believe if you don’t use this time wisely it can be harmful.
“If the student utilizes the time its a positive thing but if they don’t its a waste of time.” history teacher, Matt Watson said.
The optional intervention time allows students to sleep in an hour later than regular days which, according to senior Tanner Neff, could be a good or bad thing
“It gives me a chance for a little more sleep that i deprived myself that night studying.” Neff said, “but not getting up normally could throw you off and make you late.”
The optional intervention time will be from 7:20-8:15 on this thursday and friday. However for those students that can’t come to school at 8:20 that ride the bus, if they plan on riding the bus it will be at regular time and they will be their at 7:20.
There are pros and cons when considering the optional intervention time. You can either sleep in and possibly re energize yourself, or come in early to study for your finals. Either way the optional time is their and you must use it wisely.
“It’s a little bit unfair for those students that don’t have the ability to go in later,” Neff said, ” But who says they can’t walk #shoe leather express.”
