Around this time each year sophomore Kate Wing and her family are busy mailing letters to Santa.
“I participate in writing Santa letters with my little brother because it makes me feel like a kid still.” Kate said.
Writing letters to Santa is something that has been a tradition since their mom, Janice wagner has been little.
“Its been a tradition in our family since I can remember,” Wagner said. “It makes me happy to see the excitement on my kids faces when we mail them.”
Every year Kate and her family mail the letters to the same place.
“My brother and I decorate the letters all pretty for Santa to read,” Kate said. “Then we mail it to 1,2,3 North Pole Avenue.”
The letters say different things each year. As they get older kate and her brother Brandon stop asking for dolls and race cars, and ask for much bigger things in their letters.
“This year in my letter I asked Santa for an Ipod touch,” 10 year old Brandon Wing said. “I also asked for pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Clause so I could see them.”
When the letters are finally complete for Santa to read they send it off.
“We send it off on Dec 20,” Brandon said. “That way Santa can look it over because I know he is really busy.”
