On Tuesday, Jan. 29, Varsity girls’ swimming will participate in a meet against St. Dominic and Holt. The meet will take place at the Rec-Plex and will start at 8:30 p.m.
“I am hoping to improve times and I think we will be victorious against Holt, but St. Dominic will be hard to beat,” Coach Chip Crow said.
The team is coming off of a win against Fort Zumwalt North and some members are confident they can bring home another win.
“I think we will do very good against the other teams,” Dominique Meyer said. “If the team prepares like [we] usually do, we should have no problem winning,”
The team has been preparing for three months now and most team members have improved their times tremendously.
“I practice five times a week, so I’m not very nervous. I’m just going to go into it with a positive attitude and stay focused on what I need to do,” Megan Hampson said
The team lost 11 seniors this season and are now only swimming with two, but the team is proving they are not letting that slow them down.
The team has had a very successful season so far and are going to focus on improving times and endurance for this next meet.
“Sami Ritter and Sam Price have both been working really hard and have improved their times the most in the 500 relay,” Crow said.
The season is quickly coming to an end, with only four practices remaining. Meyer plans on making these last few days count.
“I’m just going to keep practicing, we only have a few practices left so now is the time to not give up. I am going to apply all my corrections from my coach and keep my positive attitude,” Meyer said.
