On Feb. 8, the Varsity Boys basketball team will take on FZW. The game takes place at FZW at 7. According to the head coach Darrell Davis, North won the home game played against FZW last year. Player Kyle Lemons, who just recently reached his 1,000 point, holds hope for the same with this coming game.
“It feels like we’re all prepared for the game,” Lemons said. “We should win.” The coach also hopes for a win and works with the players to get them to improve with each new challenge.
“Our goal is to get better each game and we’ve done that,” Davis said. “We just need to keep improving and getting better each game.” With working to improve after each time on the court, the players are feeling hopeful and confident in their ability to win against FZW.
“I hope we can win,” player Collin Toedtmann said. “We beat West the last time we played them. I think we can win this game.” If they win the game it will be due, in part, to the amount of teamwork they put in.
“We try to help each other,” Lemons said. “It’s a team sport.” Their coach notices, not only their effort to work as a team, but their dedication to the sport.
“What I like about this team is they never give up and they play hard from the first tip to the final buzzer,” Davis said. This is one of the reasons Davis is confident in his team in the upcoming game and the rest of the season.
“There’s no one on our schedule we can’t beat,” Davis said.
