Junior Varsity girls played against Parkway North at FHN on Feb. 13. What resulted in a lose started out with the Lady Knights winning the entire first half of the game. Going into the first quarter the Knights came out strong putting plays together and creating opportunities which resulted in multiple baskets. The second started the same as the first, but when the third came around the girls let their lead slip away and eventually lost the fourth quarter, and the game.
The first quarter was the best because we were up 13 to 3 at one point,” number 22 point guard Maci May said.
When the first quarter started the knights got themselves the lead within minutes. As the quarter went on the girls proceeded to get themselves opportunities and reward themselves with baskets.
The second quarter started with the game still in the favor of the Lady Knights. When the buzzer rang off to start the third, the girls went onto the court and though several opportunities were created the Knights lead quickly began to diminish. After the girls failed to capitalize on rebounds Parkway made their comeback.
“The worst quarter was the fourth quarter,” number 5 shooting guard Claire Carr said. “Everything seemed to be falling apart, people were getting kinda cocky and we let down our guard a lot on defense so they came back, the subbing could have made it better so there would be a fresh team of people when we go out also the defense could have been better.”
In the fourth, Parkway got into double bonus and got to shoot multiple times which didn’t leave much time for the Lady Knights to catch up. The quarter ended with Parkway coming back and getting the win.
