The Boys Varsity Volleyball team took home a win Thursday, April 4 in a home game against Fort Zumwalt West. It was a close competition but North came out on top with scores of 25-21 in the first match and 25-23 in the second.
“I think it was one of the best games we had so far, just that we all were on and played well hustling and communicating,” senior Jake Tecklenburg, said.
For Tecklenburg, who is a defensive specialist, the best part of the game was the fact that they came together as a team and won.
“The last couple games have been a little rough,” Tecklenburg said. “[We just need to] keep working hard and keep our momentum up to stay where we are right now as a team.”
The hardest part of the game for 6-foot-5 junior and middle blocker, Lewis Stein, was the 6-foot-10 FZW blocker in front of him. Although that was a challenge, the whole team was happy they were able to defeat the opposing purple and silver Jaguars.
“We all tried hard and all played at 100 percent,” junior Lewis Stein said.
In senior and middle blocker, Mark Reichert’s opinion, one thing in particular that the team excelled at against FZW was closing the blocks to keep their opponents from scoring.
“We definitely worked together really well, we were communicating well and hustling,” Reichert said.
