Sophomore Luke Guerdan and his band Minus Me are playing at Busch Stadium on May 14.
“This has been one of the coolest gigs I’ve gotten,” Guerdan said. “We’ve never played at such a big event like this. I’m super excited about this show.”
Guerdan’s band is playing at the Ford Plaza inside the stadium. They are performing in a “battle-of-the-bands” at 6:00 and the Cardinals game starts afterwards at 7:15.
“I’m excited for his band to play,” Allison Weyhrich said. “All my friends and I are going to support his band. I hope his band wins the battle of the bands.”
All together, Guerdan’s band had to sell 150 tickets for the game. The tickets they sold were originally $63 each, but they sold them for $20 a piece.
“It was surprising how many people wanted to buy the tickets,” Guerdan said. “I didn’t expect to sell all the tickets, but we did.”
The alternative rock band has been together for one year. This is the second gig they have played as a band. The other members in his band are guitarist and singer Jack McCoy, drummer Josh Hayden, and bassist John Grieve who all go to FHC. Guerdan has previously been in two other bands before joining Minus Me.
“The band has really good energy,” McCoy said. “I really enjoy making music with all of them.”
