On Tuesday, August 6. Francis Howell North’s student mentors, teachers. guidance counselors, and principals welcomed incoming freshmen, as well as older students who transferred from other schools. The mentors split into groups of about 8-10 freshmen, where they spoke with them about the school, answered questions, and played games to get to know each other. After the group activities, all students met in the large gym to hear information about the A+ Program, and what is needed in order to graduate. The students then split into two groups. One to the small gym, and the other to eat lunch in the Commons. To end the day, the students went through their entire schedule to meet their teachers and also get a feel for the passing periods.
