On Wednesday, FHN Fashion Club had their first meeting of the year, with a turnout of about 70 students from all grades and both genders.
“I think that it was a really good turnout and the club will have a lot of active members,” junior Dominique Meyer said.
Senior and President of the club, Maddie Hiatt, created the club because of her love of fashion, and consideration of others.
“I wanted it [Fashion Club] to be a place where people can come and express themselves through their personal fashion,” Maddie said.
Besides just going on shopping trips and attending St. Louis Fashion Week, the club will also be donating and dresses to the Princess Project; a foundation that takes old prom and homecoming dresses and provides them to girls who can’t afford them.
“I saw the store [for the Princess Project] and I knew I wanted to help,” Maddie said. “So, whenever we started Fashion Club we knew we wanted to work with them.”
In order to raise more money for the Princess Project, Fashion Club will be hosting their first hat day on Friday, Sept. 6. All of the proceeds will go to the Princess Project.
“Usually at a thing like that everything would be girly, but they had a ton of ideas and input on how guys can become involved too,” junior Luke Guerdan said.
