Despite the explosive first match performance, the Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team lost their game against the Troy Trojans on September 5. The final score was 2-1 Troy.
“Even though we lost, I thought we did really well on defense and serving the ball,” Varsity Middle Blocker Jessica Allison said, “we just need to work on keeping up the momentum.”
Although the team lost the first home game, Varsity Coach Robin Yeude is still very optimistic about how this game can keep the team humble. She is still excited for what the rest of the season has in store.
“We’ll bounce back from this game and it is just going to make us tougher,” Yeude said, “Sometimes with wins you get over-confident.”
Now the team is working to improve on the mistakes they made tonight, and looking forward to winning the next game.
“I think we can definitely win the next game if we just learn from our mistakes tonight,” Varsity Defensive Specialist Anna Ford said. “We can only go up from here, but it will take every girl on the team to have a positive attitude and give 100% everyday whether it’s at practice or at a game.”
