Tonight at 8:30 p.m., North will face off against FZW and Timberland at the Rec Plex. During the past week, the team has been fixing their mistakes from their first swim meet during their practices. There were two disqualifications that were accounted for.
Diving, on the other hand, excelled in the first meet.Peter Lucido not only qualified for state, but he also shattered the previous school record. The diving team of two is expected to do just as well, if not better, in tonight’s meet.
“I feel like a Tri-Meet will make us more competitive,” coach Steve Kelly said.
Kelly is looking forward to seeing how the boys do in new events and how they’ll overcome their mistakes.
“I think everyone has realized that we can do a lot better than we did last week and we need to push ourselves more during practice,” captain Zac Fletcher said “I have a lot to fix so why not fix it at the same time.”
For being a young, inexperienced team, North’s swimmers have been showing immense progress according to the coaches.
“My flip turns and starts were mediocre at best, so next meet I hope that I will be better at them and improve my times,” second year swimmer Danny Helvey said.
