Peter Lucido is a freshman diver for the Knights Varsity Swim team who recently broke the school record with a score of 271.65 in the one meter dive on Sept 10 against Fort Zumwalt West.
“The most amazing thing about this dive is I know he could do even better and that he can get an even better score,” Swimming Coach Chip Crow said.
Lucido is used to this competition as he competed at the Age Group Nationals this past summer. With his score this past Tuesday, Lucido placed himself third on the list of Direct Athletics State Qualifiers.
Even after beating the school record, Lucido isn’t stopping there. He hopes to surpass this score and reach his goal of 300.00 points.
“My goal is to get at least past the first wave of state this year,” Lucido said.
His next shot at his goal will be on Sept. 16 against Holt.
