Last week, Knightline and The Goonies decided to collaborate to form a twitter account solely responsible for promoting games for fall sports. One reasons for picking themes for each of the games was to boost school spirit and to show support for one another and all of the different sports going on around FHN. Monica describes the new account as a support system between the sports. It’s a place where people can read updates and get excited about the upcoming games. FHN Spirit Control hopes to continue to update the student body about upcoming games throughout the basketball season as well.
“The Spirit Patrol account is a way of getting info out to the students when the games are- mostly home games- and making sure that everyone knows what the themes are,” Varsity Knightline dancer Monica Friedman said.
Q&A with Monica Friedman:
- Name?
Monica Friendman - Grade?
11 - Are you involved in any Sports?
I’m onVarsity Knightline - What is your favorite sport outside of Knightline?
I would have to say either football or basketball. Probably football because that’s when the most parents come out to support us and football just has a fun atmosphere and we get to stand really close to the action. - Why did yo guys decide to start the FHN Spirit Patrol Account?
We wanted to get the students involved and to do well for others by having a support system. - How would you describe FHN Spirit Control to someone who has never seen it before?
I would say that it provides information on when the games are and tries to incorporate all of the teams. It also gets people more involved with the themes [for the games].
