On Friday September 13th, the Varsity football Knights played against Fort Zumwalt South in their second home game on the turf in the FHN stadium. Going into the game, the Knights were on a 12 game losing streak.
The Knights scored first, bringing the score to 7-0 on a Terry White touchdown. The Knights then scored two more times, once by Jordan Moody and then again by Danny Bacon. The FZS Bulldogs in the third quarter recovered a fumble to bring the score to 21-6 after a failed extra-point attempt. After the end of the third quarter the score was 27-13.Within a minute of the fourth quarter, which brought the score to 27-20. Later in the quarter, the Knights recovered a fumble on the Bulldogs 31-yard line. The Knights went on to score three more touchdowns with less than six minutes to play. The final score was 48-20.
“It was a really great moment for all the seniors because we haven’t had a win in over a year. It was very emotional for me and others”, said senior Andrew Cline.
Next Friday, the FHN Knights will be playing at Francis Howell High School. Gametime is 7:00 P.M. (photos by matt krieg)
