“Crowd Pleasers” who are the male cheerleaders that keep the crowd entertained at the Powder Puff Football game, had their first practice on September 16.
“We were trying to learn and have fun, it was just a great time,” Junior crowd pleaser Zak Davlin said. “Picking out clothes is hard, I never realized how hard females have it.”
Crowd Pleasers dress up like girls and do the same cheers the regular cheerleaders do. They pump up the crowd and make sure no one loses focus.
“They’re funny and entertaining and they get the crowd into the game,” junior Bailey North said.
The Crowd Pleasers don’t have much time to perfect their cheers. They only get about three practices before their big performance on September 25. Their main focus for this practice was to begin working on their dance that will be performed during halftime.
“The halftime routine was our big focus, we got about half of it done,” Davlin said.
In addition to the halftime show, the Crowd Pleasers perform popular cheers such as the “Yell” cheer.
The practices are a relaxed experience that’s more about having fun and just being with other people who enjoy doing the same thing as you.
“[The best part is] being able to just be silly and make the crowd laugh,” former Crowd Pleaser Tanner Gunnett said.
