On Sept. 14, senior Cross Country runner, Brandon Rosner finished second with a time of 19 minutes and 11 seconds at the Paul Enke Invitational. After getting dropped from varsity after a bad week at the Forest Park meet, Rosner rebounded to gain his varsity spot back.
“The same situation happened last year and I wanted my spot back and I wanted to prove that my first two races of the season weren’t even close to my best performances,” Rosner said.
The race came down to the last couple miles, in which Rosner went from seventh place to first with a half of a mile remaining. Rosner ultimately fell short in the final few meters.
“I just felt like I needed to prove myself,” Rosner said. “That I was worthy of my varsity spot.”
Rosner will be running in the fifth varsity spot in the Hazlewood Central meet on 9/27. The varsity team has placed second at both of their last two meets.
“I feel confident and ready,” Rosner said.
