Senior Julie Schwartz works full time at McDonald’s at Harvester and 94, as she goes through her final year in high school. Since July 26th, 2012, she’s been working there through the school work program learning new skills in management and people skills.
“Everyday I leave after 4th period to work at McDonalds,” says Schwartz. “Sometimes I work on my homework till the weekend or break, but I still have a good GPA.”
New experiences isn’t the only thing she likes about her job. Schwartz likes the fast pace speed of her job and loves the fact that he doesn’t have to sit down for a long period of time.
“I’m constantly moving and doing something here,” says Schwartz.
But not everything is likable.
“Sometimes the customers can be picky or just rude,” says Schwartz. “but I muscle through it.”
Dealing with critical people can help to develop characteristics that will help in future jobs.
“In general, a fast food job is a good job to start with.” says Schwartz.
Even though having a job may be stressful or chaotic, it’s always good to learn new things.
