On October 19, The Francis Howell North Knights traveled to Timberland High School to face the Wolves. Timberland scored first on a touchdown and the extra point with 4:19 left in the first quarter. Neither team scored for the remainder of the first half. During halftime, it began to rain, but stopped shortly before the second half started.
Timberland was again the first team to score, this time being in the second half with 8:54 left in the quarter. The Wolves missed the extra point so the score stood at 13-0. The Knights put themselves on the board with 4:35 left to play in the third quarter with a field goal by junior Alex Connell. The score was then 13-3. Just a minute later, the Wolves scored another touchdown along with the extra point, making the score 20-3. Early in the fourth quarter, FHN scored a touchdown along with the extra point to bring the score to 20-10. Then, Timberland came back to score the last touchdown of the game, but missing the extra point. The final score was 26-10. Timberland’s record is now 5-3. Francis Howell North dropped to 2-6.
Francis Howell North’s next game will be against the Washington Blue Jays at the FHN Stadium at 7:00. This will be the last game of the season for the varsity team, and also the last high school football game for the twelve seniors on the team. (photos by matt krieg)
