The annual financial aid meeting is being held Dec. 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.
Financial aid is defined as a scholarship, grant or a loan. Most students have some financial aid. Financial aid is available for juniors and seniors.
“I think the meeting is a great way for students to find out more information about the financial aid,” senior, Emily Grueter said.
Since financial aid is helping students with money there are lots of requirements. Federal government & universities decide on the student financial aid package. Estimated Family Contribution or EFC is what a family has to pay. If you subtract that amount from the total cost of the college, and that’s the amount you get from financial aid.
“I think it is a great resource for seniors, especially the seniors who are the oldest in their family and who have never done it before,” senior Cathrine House said. All seniors that file a FAFSA, or a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, after the family tax return is sent by Jan. 1 and meet the right requirements and get the financial aid they need. Believe it or not, financial aid really does help a lot of students who need it, as long as they meet the necessary.
“FAFSA is required from most college students and is a must for students utilizing A+ benefits,” Counselor, Lisa Woodrum said.
