The Francis Howell North varsity basketball team is preparing for their first home game of the season tonight, Tuesday Dec. 17. The Knights have a current record of 1-2 and are taking on Ritenour High School Huskies.
“I think if we play as a team and make smart decisions tonight, we can beat this team,” Senior James Gleeson said.
The team has been working specifically on pressing for this game because of the amount of pressing Ritenour tends to do. The Knights have also been struggling with rebounding lately and hope to be better by tonight’s game. They believe that they can beat the Huskies tonight and take home a win if they don’t turn the ball over much.
“I think we will win for sure. They are a real quick team that will go for a lot of steals. If we don’t turn the ball over a lot we will win with ease,” Senior Collin Toedtmann said.
The team has also been working on their relationship as a team. Once they get to know each other better, the boys believe that they will be one of the best teams in the area.
“My favorite part of playing basketball is the intense moments on the court where we make huge plays in the game that make the crowd go crazy,” Toedtmann said.
The game will take place in the Francis Howell North gymnasium at 7.
