Boy’s varsity basketball continue their season with a 7-3 record and plan to defeat the Timberland wolves this friday at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium. The second annual Hall of Fame night is also being celebrated in the gym before the game.
“[I’m looking forward to] winning our first conference game of the year, and being top of the conference,” Senior shooting guard Anthony Starks said, “We would like to win another conference title.”
The team has prepared themselves for the upcoming game by focusing on the Wolves plays and players along with their strengths and weaknesses. Going over various types of plays to use during the game is also essential in practices.
“A goal for the team is for us to play hard so that we win,” Senior forward Collin Toedtmann said, “And I need to focus on staying out of foul trouble so that I can play and not foul out.”
During warm ups, the FHN Hall of Fame night will be celebrated to recognize alums of FHN who were considered excelled athletes. This will be the second year that FHN has hosted this celebration. The athletes are recognized while an announcer talks about their sport and what they have done since they’ve graduated FHN. A photo of them is then placed on the Hall of Fame wall in the gym lobby.
“I think it’s pretty cool [to celebrate Hall of Fame night], it could motivate us players to try and be a part of that one day,” Junior shooting guard, Derrick Scarbrough said.
