On Thursday, Jan. 30, Student Council (StuCo) will host their annual Winter Pep Assembly. The Pep Assembly is usually
held on a Friday but due to Knightline teams traveling to the National Dance Association on Thursday night, the assembly was moved up one day. This circumstance also caused Studline to be cancelled due to Knightline not having enough time to prepare in addition to practicing for Nationals.
“We wanted to move it up because we love performing in front of our school and we didn’t want to miss the chance to,” senior Knightline member Tiana Johnson said. “We’re extremely grateful to StuCo and Mr. Janes that it we are able to,”
Putting on an hour and a half long assembly is not a simple task according to StuCo President Rowan Pugh. The assembly, as well as the spirit week days and dance, are all planned during meetings throughout the month before the scheduled dates.
“You need to plan ahead in order for things to run smoothly,” parliamentarian Kaitlin Eifert said.
The assembly is held to honor the winter sports and to bring the school together. During the assembly, the Snowcoming King and Queen nominations for each grade will be announced. Also, StuCo organizes games that students from all levels have a chance to participate in.
“I like the pep assembly because I like the school spirit that everyone has,” senior Emily Grueter said.
