On Friday, January 24, the FHN varsity boys basketball team traveled to traveled to FHC to face the Spartans in a conference game. The FHN JV boys, JV girls, and varsity girls had all won their games against FHC before the start of the varsity boys game. The start of the game was delayed 15 minutes due to a referee being injured before the game. The game started at 8:30, after being scheduled to start at 7:30.
The Knights got off to a slow start. At one point, FHN was down by the score of 6-16. However, by halftime, FHN made progress on FHC. The score going into the half was 28-31. In the second half, the Knights took the lead for the first time of the night. As the clock ran down to one minute remaining in the 4th quarter, the score was 49-50, with FHN in the lead. After a number of free throws and time outs, FHN came out on top by the score of 53-50.
The next game for the Knights will be Monday, January 27 at 6:30 against Pattonville as part of the FZN Invitational. The next home game will be Friday, February 14 at 7:00. (photos by matt krieg)
